New York in March

Hi all, going to New york Mid March for 4/5 day city break.

What sort of clothes shall I pack, or is it best to watch the weather just before we gov?
Will we see snow?

I’m here right now....stocked up on snow boots and thermals for the whole family beforehand but it’s ‘unseasonably warm’ and we haven’t needed any of it! I had to go and buy myself some trainers . I’d just keep an eye on the weather the week before you go - there’s a couple of 14 day forecasts and they seemed accurate this time for us - and pack accordingly. Even though it’s springlike and warm we have needed hats and scarves for windy places like the top of the Empire State and the Staten Island ferry.

I’m in NY right now too and left my big Canada Goose jacket at home in Chicago! It’s so warm for the time of year. March can be crazy weather wise and no one can predict more than 2 weeks out if it will be 15 degrees and sunny or below freezing and snowing- I went once for a long weekend in late March and had both! The snow wasn’t that cold and didn’t stick properly though- definitely didn’t need snow boots or thermals. Keeping an eye on the weather is your best bet and pack layers, a coat with a hood and semi waterproof footwear.

We went early March, first few days were freezing!! The last day was 19 degrees and was like a nice summers day for England!
