Cruise......balcony or inside cabin for Norwegian Fjords?

We are looking at booking a cruise around the Fjords in July with Cunard on the QV. We have previously done the Atlantic crossing on the QM2 and had an inside cabin which was great and there wasn’t anything to see outside so we didn’t miss the window.

We can’t decide on whether to book the delux inside cabin or the balcony - there is almost a 50% difference in the price.

Has anyone done this cruise in an inside cabin? Did you regret not being able to see the view from your own balcony? Was there enough space on the deck/in the public areas not to feel crowded when looking at the views?

The other option is to get a room with a window which is about £100 more than the delux inside cabin (although they are a lot smaller). We had discounted these rooms as we weren’t sure you would see much from the window. If this a good compromise then we would be open to booking a window room.

Personally I don’t find the window adds much. The views can be restrictive.
A balcony really does add value - having private outside space is marvellous.Isn’t the fords shout the view ( rather than the fairly similar cruise ports).
I would say it probably wouldn’t matter quite so much in the winter months when it’s dark and cold but in July with the light nights it will add another element to the holiday.
I had a balcony on a cruise where there wasn’t much to see but leaving and coming into port is very interesting when you can watch in peace.

Sorry “ fjords” and “ about”. Bloody phone.

I would go for the balcony. Even when we’ve been on a transatlantic we’ve enjoyed having the private outside space and they’re definitely worth it when there’s views to be seen.

For fjords I'd definitely recommend balcony. You spend a lot of time sailing into and out of the fjords and there's nothing better than opening up the curtains, lying in your bed and watching the scenery as you float by.

I wouldn't go on a cruise at all unless I had a balcony cabin.
