I'm thinking about plans for this coming summer.
Has anyone travelled independently in Sumatra? Any tips and recommendations?
We like being outdoors, beaches, nature (have seen orangutans in Borneo but I reckon worth seeing here too), hikes, some culture/city, travel by train/bus.
We are tied to school holidays (late July, early August).
Or would you suggest somewhere different instead?
