Apartment in Rome?

Planning a four day trip to Rome in June, and thinking about booking an apartment instead of a hotel.
Thought it might give more flexibility, also travelling companion and I prefer separate bedrooms, so I'm wondering whether it might work out cheaper.
Don't mind any area: have been twice before, and stayed in Aurelia area (bit out of the way, but everywhere accessible by Metro).
Anyone stayed in an apartment and have recommendations?
I usually book via travel agent( old fashioned): would that be an option, or would online be better?

The NH Collection Giustiniano Rome, a Suite goes for 231 euro per night with breakfast, this is two rooms, bathroom & entrance hall with balcony ~ The Vatican in its sights?! Breakfast is excellent; can sleep up to 5 ☺️

Try Myextrahome.com. We stayed in a two bed called Colonna Charme a few years ago. Not sure if price now but was €150 a night then - fab location near Piazza Navona/Pantheon. Very central but quiet. Think they had others too - this had two double bedrooms - had a few short stairs to get up to it - charming and very Roman.

We went through Booking.com and used a company called Easyinrome and booked a two bed apartment just off Piazza Navrone. It was well located , had wifi and service for getting keys and leaving was good. Wasn't hugely expensive- would recommend.

We found a good one on Air BnB (right next to the Vatican). I always prefer staying in an apartment to a hotel on a city break as it makes me feel like less of a tourist Grin I know I'm deluding myself there but hey ho.
