3.30 latest

i like to get there as check in opens, which is usually two hours before, but if yours is 2.5 hours, that is when it will open.....one of you can queue with luggage, whilst the other wanders with kids, and come back when you are near the front of the queue.

I would definately go 2 hours before. We just flew over to Germany and arrived 2 hours just as check in opened but we had to wait quite a while and then again at passport control they were checking alot of hand luggage and we had to take belts, some people shoes off etc and that takes time and holds the line up. It is a busy time of year so I wouldn't risk having to rush.

I would want to be there no later than 0330. I fly a lot for work and there is nothing that stresses me out more than checking in late. Chances are you won't sleep well anyway, and you may as well make an early start, check in in good time, and be all cool, calm and collected - a much better start to a holiday (I assume it's a holiday?) than being all frazzled and probably having a row!

Id go for 4.

They will say two hours on the flight info, but that generally means what time the desk opens. Not everyone will be able to check in at once.

Suppose it depends if your happy for a bit of a wait or one of these that likes to get through and hang about for ages at the other side

frazzled and having a row! sounds familar and we arent going until sunday!

aah, 2.5, you see, what do I know. I just dont like hanging around longer than necessary.

Bluestocking · 24/08/2007 20:26

Poor you, Jasmine, I know the feeling - DP and I have had some corking pre-holiday rows!
