30th trip with baby
Sleepyquest · 16/12/2019 19:02
I turn 30 next year (yay!) and our baby will be 1. I really want to go on a trip but it will be December and I want to take the baby. Can anyone recommend a good place to go in December for 3-4 days that won't be freezing!? I was thinking Vegas before we conceived but don't think it's baby friendly

I live in UAE and would recommend Dubai. You can get childcare in most hotels if you are in to that or people are very chill about babies here if you want to take them everywhere with you. Pretty much every restaurant has a kids menu and are very welcoming and you see babies out late all the time here, they tend to be out late then sleep in. Apart from my very Scottish son who believes 6am to be wake up time!

I’d second the Canary Islands - according to a quick google, it’s typically around 21 degrees. Won’t break the bank and with a small baby, the flight time isn’t going to be much of a pain.
The Middle East will be warm too if you don’t mind a longer flight time. Apologies to the PP, I’ve also lived in Dubai (PP) years ago for four years and its highly commercialised with numerous human rights issues. If all you want is sunshine and a pool though for a couple of days it would be fine.

Mexico is lovely in December. It's my 30th in March and we will go away but not take the baby. We went to Barcelona in October for my husbands 30th for a few days and left out 12 week old with her nana. It was a lovely break but obviously missed her.

Thanks guys! I'm not sure what I want but I definitely want to mark the occasion. Might possibly stay in the UK but do a nicer hotel than we would normally! So many options

You could also go to Germany for a city trip with a Christmas market, just take baby in a back carrier. Vienna is supposed to be lovely in December as well, you could try for a more upmarket hotel, get a suite so you can sit while your baby sleeps in anohter room. Maybe get one with a pool (check the fine print though, lots of spa hotels have restrictions about children in the pool area).
