Can anyone recommend an airbnb for four - two bedrooms - in Rome for July next year please. I don't know which is the best area to stay. We're staying in Rome for three nights and then getting train to Naples.

We stayed here: www.airbnb.co.uk/rooms/4658454?source_impression_id=p3_1576350085_rwM%2Brl05FNm4ZoTx

in Monti.
It might be a squeeze for 4, despite the listing saying it sleeps 5.

It was a good area to stay in for the ancient Roman bits.

We stayed here in this area in 2014 but I can’t find the link now it was fab and a really good price on air b n b with no reviews as we emailed them and it was a new listing. We took a chance plenty of space to relax, small lovely traditional Roman coffee shop below and very central Rome location with easy walking distance to many central places.

We had booked v early trips to the Colosseum and St Peters (it would be an extremely long walk early) so we got taxis there and leisurely walked back. But on the first afternoon we walked to a few of the nearby places and could easily walk to Trevi fountain, Spanish Steps, Pantheon, Piazza Navona etc to see the sights and things lit up by night as well.

We stayed at a place just at the top of the Spanish Steps, Via Gregoriana: it was quiet but not far from most of the major sights. That was a couple of years ago and I can't see it on Air B'n'B now. We walked everywhere.

I just googled Via Gregoriana to see if they'd changed the name of the place and found this:

Not Air B'n'B but looks good and not very expensive. I've bookmarked for myself.

I would look closer to the Tiber. Good to have an easy to identify landmark when walking round. Ponte Sisto hotel is a near perfect hotel location. Walk to everywhere from there. The top bit of Rome is very, very easy to walk around Pantheon, Trevino fountain and Piazza Navarro. You could do all those in an afternoon easily, You may want to be closer to the more tiring attractions further down the city and taxi back up.
