INCONSISTENT SECURITY PROBLEMS WHEN FLYING

Hello out there. I've just returned from a holiday to Finland with dd aged 10 months; it was her 6th flight, and I'm fed up with the inconsistency of the security measures. I was wondering if any of you out there had similar problems? We've experienced the sublime (pushchair and car seat taken from us at right at aircraft door and returned at to us at door with a smile at destination, being waved through security with 8 bottles of milk) to the ridiculous (had pushchair taken off us at check-in, despite all airlines' claim this will not happen, asked to taste water in bottles).
Am I alone in thinking this is crazy? I don't want an easy ride, I just want consistency. Would appreciate feedback from any others who've had good/bad experiences of travelling on planes recently.

it's up to the people at the desks really and probably the airport you leave from- we have the same problems - I"ve just returned from the summer abroad and when we left London even my 2 year old had to take her shoes off - buggy went through the exray machine along with the carry one and the baby had to go through the scan thing by herself - I wasn't allowed to carry her ( she crawled through...... but then when we left Canada it was much more lax - I had cosmetics not in a clear bag with some contents over 100 ml....no shoes off for anyone and buggy was waved right through with the baby inside.

I hate travelling now getting from a to b

That sounds familiar, Hana. We carried dd though the scanner in her car seat when she was asleep but when she was awake, she had to come with me and the car seat go through the xray machine! Fortunately she's not old enough for shoes yet
