Staycation advice

Want to take my 7yo away from 16th Dec for three nights (he breaks up early as he is in independent school)
Somewhere within a couple hours of Surrey where there might be a bit of entertainment (so I can switch off!) but that won't break the bank. We did a Camber Sands holiday park in the Summer and he quite enjoyed it (and I didn't hate it iyswim!) but that closes over winter.
Any ideas?

you could look at the manor house hotel in devon, so around a 3 hour drive from surrey. it has free use of all the facilities whilst you are there, and it is a sport and craft hotel so has things like a soft play, go kart track, pools, waterslides and a game zone
