Annual Travel Insurance - who to use? cost?

Just updating my travel insurance, as it runs out the day before we go to France. Going to get annual European cover - don;t need World Wide this year. Now Mollie is over 2, she needs to be included as well.

Just had a quote from Asda for just over £98.

Does this sound good?

Who do you use? And are they good value?

That site has just quotes me £50 for the 3 of us, for a year's insurance. Can that be right??

yes, thats the basic cost for European cover. I have the worldwide one for 4 of us, and it was about £70.
It all looks OK - its underwritten by AXA.

I have always got the lowest quote fom Columbus Travel - but have never tried ASDA etc. I understand that some of the supermarkets quote family policies for one-parent families, too - which is good.

Hula, have you tried tesco (www.tesco.com), there insurance is usually really cheap!

None automatically provided by bank sadly. I'll have a look at some more quotes but pretty persuaded by £50 quote right now! Read small print stuff too and looks good.

We also use Direct Travel - basic for DH and upper class for me (only because of the asthma) Used them for passed three years and when we had to claim they were fantastic.

Also have Lloyds TSB through an account - but do pay £8 each month for it - we do have worldwide coverage though (trips to mum!!) so it works out at £96/year.

We have our homeowners insurance through Halifax and did our travel insurance through them too. We got a good discount for having both of them. We have an annual world wide policy that also covers my husband's scuba diving. I think it costs £80 per year. I didn't get the lost baggage coverage because we never pack anything more valuable than would be covered by the airline.
Halifax have been really good on the homeowner policy end of things. We haven't yet had to use the travel insurance, but we almost did (when dh chopped a chunk out of his arm with a chop saw the day before our holiday...he had 50 stitches!) and when I called them for info and what to do if we had to cancel they were really friendly and helpful.
