put the cd in the pc (!)

then go to start, programs find which is the cd writer program, see if you can work it out - you want to make a data cd. If you get stuck come back and tell us which software you have.

I looked at this thread earlier and wasn't sure if I knew enough, but since you've had no response I thought I'd try!
I believe you need a program to do it with. I've got one called 'Stomp' tbh DH put it on my pc and although I know it was on a cdrom, I don't know anymore than that.
See, not much help am I? Well at least I bumped it for you!

Hi there. You'll need some CD Burning software. A lot of computers now have this included. My Dell laptop has some software already installed for example. There are lots of free CD burning software downloads available, but they may vary a lot. One I've used in the past that is quite easy to use is:
Nero

Are you using a DVD instead of a CD or maybe your CD is write-protected??

littlemissmischief · 20/08/2007 13:53

usually there is a drag and drop option where you can just drag across the folders or files you want - or you can specify all to start with and then delete some from the list before actually confirming to start the writing (does that make any sense ?!).

Yes it does thankyou I ve got that bit sorted! I really wanted to do a cd that you can show on the dvd player (like they do at Asda)but this one just goes on the computer, do I need a different type of cd?
Also (sorry ) all my photos are jumbled up in different folders and I want to sort them into the right folders, can anyone help with that too?

Just right click in your photo folder or on your desktop, hit add new folder, name it and drag and drop the photos into it.

littlemissmischief · 20/08/2007 15:31

drag and drop photos in to it? How

open two "my computers" - open one to the new folder, and the other to the photos folder - then click on one photo hold the button down and drag it across to the other window and let go of the button.

You can do more than one file at a time by holding the shift key, clicking on the first one and then the last one - they will all become highlighted showing that they are selected - then you can drag them all across in one go.

Ah thankyou! I really am useless!
I will give it a go now x
