Camping fabulous (near Rome) without a car

I am thinking about going to Rome next summer with DH, DD 13 and DD 10. We went to Garda last summer and we loved it! Camp fabulous looks good, but how difficult a holiday would it be without a car?
I’m thinking we could use a train or bus to get into Rome and to the coast 8km away.
How tricky would it be?

We stayed at that campsite a few years ago. I can highly recommend it. We hired a car but it was a short walk to get a bus which takes you into the centre of Rome.
The campsite had a great pool and ice cream!
