UK to Amsterdam then trains to the next three places and fly back to UK from Brussels

Love Amsterdam, never been to Belgium but from what I see on YouTube I’ll love it. We’ve got two teenagers so seeing lots of new things suits us, but with the cost of paying for 4 adults I wouldn’t want to pay for more than 2 nights accommodation in any one place, any recommendations for any part of the trip?

Antwerp, Brugge and Brussels are all great. I’be stayed in Brussels and done day trips to the other two. Brussels has so much to do.

Very happily spent a week in Brussels last year (work related) but lots of time off. Beautiful art nouveau buildings, there are walking tours you can download on line that go round the main ones.

The Horta museum was lovely if your teens like that kind of thing. There’s a tour of the European Parliament that’s good.

Spent 3 days in Brussels in August. I expected very little tbh as I lived there in the 80s and hated it.
It was bloody lovely Everything more or less within walking distance, and so much to do. The day we spent at the European parliament was amazing, we only came out (after about 6 hours) because we were dying of hunger. That's free, as was the Royal Palace that weekend.
We stayed in the Hotel Hubert a 2 minute walk from Grand Place. Booked on Expedia. Was fab.
We flew with Brussels Airlines which I'd never heard of...they were excellent too. August (!!) two people, good hold luggage allowance included and you could check your hand luggage in without and faffery . Paid £80 for 2return flights.

Thanks everyone were deciding between this trip or flying to Munich and visiting surrounding areas there. We’ll definitely do both trips in time just need to decide which to do first!

You could stay in Brussels and easily do the other Belgian cities by train. Ghent is lovely too - like Bruges without all the tourists. The Citadines in Place Ste Catherine does apartments and is maybe a 10 min walk or 2 metro stops from Central Station.

Ghent is a beautiful base and a city not to be missed.

I considered Ghent thought it looked lovely on YouTube videos but thought it too much trying to stay in 5 places but perhaps we should incorporate it somehow

We liked Ghent more than Brugge, found it still absolutely beautiful, but a bit more real.
