We are going for a week in Thirsk next week and hoping to go to the Eureka science museum in Halifax. DS and DD will be 12 and 10 next month. Does it cater for this age range, and is it a good day out.

they are a bit too old for it really. What about Eden Camp or (i you can face the drive) Magna in sheffield

I posted a thread a couple of weeks ago asking about Eureka v Magna.

Those who responded all thought that Magna would be better for the rebel boys' ages (similar to yours).

The boys and DH really enjoyed Magna.

Eden Camp is also very good, although it's 3/4 years since I've been.

I didn't like Eden Camp TBH, it was a bit depressing but then, the years covered where also very deppressing.

I like Eureka very much but not sure how much fun it would be for a 10 yr old.Magna is great though, I particularly love the science orientated playgorund outside. Even my dear old nerd DH enjoyed it quite a lot!

BTW Leeds attractions are nearer and the Royal Armouries and Tropical World make good interesting days out.

The National Coal Museum (just before Shefield) it is good. particularly the visit to the mine (although there are aminimum age restrictions to get into it, so check before going there)

If you would like to go further down south, The Deep at Hull is really, really nice.

Thanks Magna looks really good and so does Tropical World. Will probably give these a go.
