Expedia vs Jet2

We know where we want to go and the hotel we want to stay at and have been comparing quotes.

Expedia comes in £300 cheaper than jet2 for the same holiday. The Expedia flights are with jet2 but no baggage included whereas it’s included if we book with jet2 so the saving won’t be quite as much in the end.

The problem is Expedia seem to have horrendous reviews on tripadvisor whereas jet2 have better ones. If the flights are with jet2 and the hotel the same no matter which company we book with is it really worth £300 more to book with jet2 direct?

What are the reviews for? Expedia is a travel agent and like you say, the product you are booking, flight and hotel is the same however you book.

Remember that the Jet2 package includes the transfer too, but I don't think Expedia does? I tend to discount a lot of reviews because quite often people have unrealistic expectations or like having a moan.

Have you looked at onthebeach? I booked with them and could have booked the same package with jet2holidays for more money, but the price difference wasn't quite so great as £300. There's also completely separate, direct with Jet2 for the flights and booking.com etc for the accommodation or try travel Republic too.

What is the difference in cost when you include baggage (if you need it) and transfers?

I found Expedia really helpful when I contacted them after Thomas Cook went under. TC used to sell city breaks on their behalf, and they made sure all the elements were still booked and paid for, even though they hadn't received the money from TC.

We’ve looked more closely and found that the flight times are slightly better with jet2 and by the time we add on baggage and transfers to Expedia the difference is actually £134 so for us worth it for the better flight times. We looked at on the beach yes but they don’t have the hotel we want. All booked now, very excited!

Jet2 packages often mean you get in resort check in on the way home too which is great.
