Having had a lovely time in Guernsey last Easter, I'm wondering about visiting Jersey this Easter hols. Any recommendations for hotels. I will be on my own and fancy a bit of luxury but not stupid expensive. I loved using the buses in ?Guernsey. Is Jersey easy to bus round? I'd rather not rent a car if I can help it - rather spend that money on yummy meals.

Any advice, oh wise ones, most welcome.

Sorry I clicked on this to say just go to Guernsey again! One visit is not enough, it is beautiful. Did you go to Herm or Sark too? Lovely days trips or longer from Guernsey.

Yes, Jersey is straight forward to bus around. Liberty Bus, as it’s known, has its main depot (Liberation Station) in St Helier and from here you can grab connections to almost anywhere. In terms of bus tickets, you can either buy single fares onboard with the driver or you can invest in a Hop-on-Hop-off ticket for unlimited travel within a set time period. Liberty Bus also hire out bikes. In fact they also have fold up bikes which can take on the buses. There are tons of well-signed dedicated cycle routes that will take you off the beaten track through quiet country lanes.

Thank you. Guernsey does call again as it was fab and I'd like to see Sark again, possibly staying the night.

@Ricekrispie22 Would you recommend staying in St Hellier or elsewhere? Any recommendations most gratefully received.

The Royal Yacht Hotel is in the heart of St. Helier’s Weighbridge district with shops, restaurants, bars and the bus station nearby. It has an underground spa and an excellent choice of hotel restaurants.
The Grand Jersey is fairly modern if you like that type of hotel. It’s just a few moments away from the water’s edge. It’s central location makes it easy to stroll along the wide promenade towards St. Aubin’s or hire bikes for plenty of sea air or simply walk into town or to around the nearby marina. It has a highly rated spa, a few restaurants and a decent bar.

Thank [email protected] Both look lovely. The Pomme D'or and the Christina in St Aubin get good reviews but the latter seems to have a steep climb up to it.

This is getting me through a difficult week, planning, so many thanks for your help.

My parents go to Jersey often, and they usually stay at the Royal Yacht. They also recommend a restaurant called the Salty Dog, I think it's in St Aubin. I have many happy memories of holidaying in Jersey as a child, enjoy!
