With my children at various ages (16, 10 & 4), I have booked a day trip to Thorpe Park this Saturday and would appreciate any ideas of what I am letting myself in for. The older children recommended this park for its rides due to having gone previously on a group outing but I have never been before. Will it be fun or will I regret! .

Great fun! there is a section for the little ones too with a mini big wheel etc. Queues are biggest for the major rides, tidal wave flume ride etc. You can get queue busting tickets though (forget exactly what they are called). Have a look on their website. From memory food is not great so probably worth taking your own picnic. Also if you are planning to go on the tidal wave take a change of clothes and I mean a full change of clothes including underwear! There are loads of lockers so you don't have to carry round all your stuff. HTH
