Morocco, where to go?

DP and I are planning a trip to Morocco in February. Which potential itinerary would you go for?

Itinerary 1: Casablanca, Fes, Merzhouga, Todra Gorge, Ait Ben Haddou, Marrakech

Itinerary 2: Casablanca, Rabat, Fes, Chefchaouen, Tangier, Marrakech

For background, neither of us have been to Africa. Been to quite a few Asian countries. Live in Australia, so long haul flight of 30 hours. Have about 12 days in the country.

Any recommendations one way or another?

Chaouen is magical. Do that one.

Go to Essaouira on the coast. Lovely chilled out vibe, pretty buildings, good food.
