Hi there
Got some air miles to use before they are outlawed
Thinking of a trip to the Deep South USA- have never been there before looking at flying to Atlanta then savannah and .charlestown Is August ok weather wise and what is the best beach part to end the holiday? Myrtle beach or st simons island?
Looks so interesting from what I've read very happy fir any advice

It will be over 40 degrees some days! It’s a horrible time to go! That’s why there are flights though. If you like extreme heat then go but I would swerve. Great in the autumn though after hurricane season.

We went to Mrytle Beach in August and yes it was hot but we like to heat and we coped fine. We flew into Nashville and then went onto the Smokey Mountains then onto the coast. It never went above 40. We had one day of rain the whole two weeks. Nice breeze by the coast as well. I think we were lucky with the weather though.

I know Mrytle beach gets a bad reputation as being nasty and seedy but we enjoyed it.

There is quite a lot of info about extreme heat in the southern states. Google it. The OP wanted the cities mentioned and they are at risk of severe heat in the summer.
