Where are the best Xmas markets????

In Germany both Nurrmberg and Cologne are pretty famous for their markets, but tbh just about every city will have a decent market so it's about finding somewhere with a picturesque City Centre too. If you can travel mid-week, they would probably be slightly less busy that at the weekend.

Vienna - beautiful

Bratislava has great Christmas Markets and only a 1 hour train ride to Vienna so can do both

Berlin is really lovely as is Budapest. We are going to go to Krakow and Iceland this year.

I really really want to go to Iceland but it will be December and I'm worried we're a bit silly going at that time of year.

Prague, Krakow and Vienna are all famous for being beautiful in the Christmas season.

Bruges is beautiful but the Christmas markets last year were awful. Really awful. But it's a lovely little place, easy to get around and great for a short break. I liked Ghent much more than Bruges but I know nothing about whether it has Christmas markets.

We've done Basel before and the Christmas markets were much better but it was a very expensive city to visit. We're off to Austria this year, we also considered Germany and will probably go there next year.

Jenna is stunning and the markets are beautiful.

Geneva, Montreux and Dusseldorf are all gorgeous.

I love Berlin. The Christmas market in the Gendarmenmarkt is gorgeous, but there are others scattered around the city. Loads to see and do in Berlin and very good value for money.

Strasbourg definitely the best and a wonderful picturesque city too.
