NY in Barcelona

I'm taking the DS (10 and 14) to Barcelona for the New Year.
Any recommendations for where to stay so that we're near the centre but not going to be beneath fireworks/in the middle of a huge parade or street party?

The Eixample area is the 'best' central area to stay.
Barcelona's New Year celebrations are quite low key compared with other cities, but if you are still around, 6th January is 3 kings day and the evening before will be la Cavalcada de Reis Mags d’Orient, a big parade for epiphany and the day children traditionally get their presents.
