Anyone got any tips on things to amuse your DC on flights?

you can get foil bags of playdo that are resealable and come with a cutter - i just did 4hours each way on train with 2yrold twins and i took books/ playdo/ crayons in a zipped bag/ whizzy light toy things / finger puppet things/their comfort toy/ endless snacks - save sweets for crisis point though. best success was play do and book that had magnetic bits to stick on each page i also think it's fine for little ones to bounce on seat/wiggle in aisle/ sit on floor for a bit - what ever gets them through . i lust after a portable dvd though!it's all over sooner than you think - good luck!

For long car journies with our 5 and 3 year old this year I've done them a bag each with crayons/pens/paper/surprise toy each - nothing huge but something i know they'll like, a magazine each and a snack box with sandwiches, biscuits, fruit cut up, sweets - things they can nibble at whenever they like.
