Universal Studios Hollywood - is VIP ticket worth it?

Just wondering if anyone has purchased the VIP or fast track tickets and thought it was worth it, they are expensive but equally, it is a special occasion so want to splurge out.
Any tips greatly appreciated as we will be in LA for 3 nights.

I went in August 5 years ago with kids and the queues were fine then...when are you going? Pretty sure we didn't have any fast pass type things.

In some Universals we have had the Express tickets. However we didn't get them for the one in LA. The reviews of the queues were varied so we waited until we arrived to decide. As it happens it wasn't that busy - was August - and we didn't need to bother.

Depends when you go?. We went at the beginning of August last year and the queues were horrendous. VIP ticket was sold out and we hardly got on a thing. I think the USA schools go back in the middle of August then it tends to quieten down. Disney and Knotts were so much quieter after the 14th Aug.

We're going next week and have decided against fast track after looking on 'crowd calendar' websites. I've also downloaded the universal app so been able to look at the ride times this week and they've been fine so hoping it will not be too busy next week.

Yes in late July-defo worth it.

i was there last year and had vip tickets, got to the front of the queue for all rides, not just the escorted ones, also lunch was included brillaint buffet lunch then a vip backlot tour
