Please help Europe in November

Hi, any advice would be gratefully received. We were booked to go to Dominican Republic in November. Sadly my DM has been diagnosed with an incurable cancer in her lungs and she cannot fly. Lovely TUI have offered to refund the money spent for me, DM, DC 1, DH, DB, DS to go. Obviously being together is more important than ever so we are still keen to go away together. As DM can't fly we are looking at ferry to Europe then driving down. Warmth is very important to my mum who struggles with the grey winters. We were thinking Morocco but realistically I don't think she is going to be able to sit for the long drive.... Where is warmest? Has anyone taken the train to southern Spain or Italy? Any other ideas? Thanks for reading, sorry it was a bit of a ramble.

Training down to Nice would get you clear weather and nice temps. First class isn’t too expensive if you pick your days and is worth it, you can connect through on Eurostar if you didn’t want to take the ferry.

It’s longer down to souther Spain obviously but I’ve often been in Granada and Malaga area in November and it’s usually lovely, cold at night but able to sit out in the day.

We went to Berlin in November and while it was cold it was lovely bright and clear high pressure ....

I'm afraid wether in Europe isn't guaranteed anywhere in Europe in November. South of Spain likely you best bet but obviously a long journey without a flight.

I went to Rome in November and it was lovely, not beach weather but certainly able to eat outside without coats.

Malaga or Nice could be good too.

Thanks for the advice. I will pop onto man in seat 61 and have a look. I know we won't get good weather but the idea of eating good food in a square without a coat on is a nice one!

We were quoted £600 for a relative for insurance for Spain in similar circumstances.

I was in Lisbon last December and it was 18 / 19 degrees - really sunny and beautiful. I would recommend it

Rome the first weekend of December last year was warm. It's an amazing city to visit.
