We're going to Mevagissey in HT for a few days. We've got a few day trips planned, but I'm after recommendations for places to eat, drink and see in the village itself please?

Salamander for an evening meal.
Teacup Tearoom for a cuppa tea and a scone.
She Sells for good coffee and cake.
Tea on the Quay for a light lunch.

From the top of Polkirt Hill there is a great view over the higgledy streets, the harbour and the yachting pool.

The Portuguese restaurant on the harbour is very good. Also the Sharksfin is not bad and lovely views. Fresh fish for sale on the Quay.

If you are self catering there is a good farm shop at Heligan.

You must go to the model railway, it's brilliantly weird. The museum is quirky but there aren't many 'sights' - a stomp to heligan through the woods is good.
