I am going early November and wondering should I fork out the near 3 to 400 ps to bypass it altogether ?

??? You're going to Hong Kong, but want to bypass it ???
Also, what do you mean by "3 to 400 ps" ?
AttilaTheMeerkat · 01/10/2019 18:28
I think the poster means pounds sterling.
OP - have you read the recent Foreign Office travel advice on HK?.
Aragog · 01/10/2019 18:31
I assume you can get a different flight not calling at Hong Kong for £300-400 more, to a different destination.
Not been but the news doesn't look good for visiting at present. We had been hoping to visit next summer as part of a summer holiday but thinks aren't looking promising for that right now.
What is the official advise?

Sorry for my terrible typing. Yes I did mean 3 to 400 pounds. I've read the government advice but frankly it's
not much help. It doesn't say go or not go which is what I want to know. I come from a place where rioting would have been a regular thing periodically but the rest of the city just carried on about their business. The only thing that sorted them out was a good old downpour. Seems rioting and raining arent good bedfellows. So I'm wondering if this is the case in Hong Kong. I dont want to miss the opportunity of going if it is just confined to a relatively small area and not keen to spend this money to cancel it either. But at the end of the day if the whole place is a hotbed of civil unrest then it might just be safer to bypass it altogether so wanted to know if anyone had been there relatively recently.

I got back last Thursday. Noticed an increase d police presence but nothing else of note. Any trouble tends to be at weekends, and very isolated.
