Paphos, Crete, Rhodes or Malta?

We are looking to book 10 days at one of these destinations for mid/late October. We want a AI hotel somewhere on/very near the beach and that is within walking distance or other bars/restaurants etc. Any ideas??
Thanks!

I'm half Maltese so I vote Malta - although it's not very beachy!

I think the weather might be more reliable in Paphos or Rhodes but will qualify that by saying I haven’t been to any of them in late October!

Paphos, Crete and Rhodes get cold around that time and Malta’s off-season so a lot of the places to see would be closed. I would suggest the Canaries during that time of the year due to guaranteed weather and pretty much an all-weather season in most resorts.

All-year not all-weather!

Don't know about Malta but been to several Greek islands mid-late October and the weather is always getting on the chillier side and lots of things shut end of season.
If you want warmer and luxury what about
Iberostar selection Fuerteventura Jandia. The All inclusive meal selections are superb.

I went to Paphos in November. The weather was lovely.

Thanks guys! We wanted warm weather so maybe my ideas weren’t so good after all! 😩

Paphos was a bit too ‘Brits abroad’ for our taste. Other parts of Cyprus may be less so. We liked Crete, and thought Aghios Nikolaos might be a place worth returning to. Rhodes is lovely. Haven’t been to Malta, so can’t comment.

malta, its one of my favourite places, both the city and coast are lovely

Malta doesnt really have a proper off season, and october would still be lovely.
It depends on what you want from your holiday.
malta is my go-to easy holiday as its affordable, warm, beautiful coast, and yet everyone speaks english, genuinely likes the british, and yet it clearly has its own culture and heritage, but if youre looking for unspoilt beaches, then you might be disappointed as a lot of malta is now very built up and theyve definitely overdone some of the resorts, but I still love it. Gozo is less busy and built up

Pefkos in Rhodes is lovely. Everything is open until the end of October. The most stunning sunsets I've ever seen.

Biggest beach on Malta is Mellieha Bay and there's at least one AI hotel there - I haven't stayed but have eaten in the restaurant that was open to the public, it was nice.

There's also plenty of other bars and restaurants in the area and there's Mellieha itself, but it's up a very steep hill if you're walking. Also well placed for trips to Gozo or Comino or elsewhere in Malta on buses.

Weather can be hit and miss - can be glorious, or stormy and everything in between. Canaries would be more reliable but still chance of rain/cloudy days at this time of year. However, if you haven't booked yet, you're competing against all those who've lost TC holidays, so choice may be limited and prices high.

We stayed at the Mitsis Faliraki Beach hotel a few years ago in Oct and it was fab! I wasn't overly keen on the AI but but they had 5 a la carte restaurants in the hotel. It's right in the beach so I was able to escape AI and wander along to some lovely wee tavernas. Bus stop right at hotel for Rhodes Town, Lindos etc. Was a great holiday with fab weather!

Adults only? Asimina Suites in Paphos has AI.

Paphos is a working town rather than a resort and doesn't have a season. The weather should still be warm during the day although getting chillier at night.

It wouldn't be my first choice if a good sandy beach is a priority though. Neither would Malta. Never been to Crete or Rhodes so can't comment on them.

I'd go to the canaries if warmth is your priority.
The others may be cold for a beachy holiday but nice weather for just being somewhere warm.
Rhodes, gravel beaches, Rhodes town busier and v touristy in summer.
Crete been to agios nicolaos, small beach not stayed AI. nice but quiet even in summer.
Paphos, hated as very plastic with loads of bars etc, not my cup of tea, although I know it's really popular, been out of season and it was cold.
Malta has one sandy beach I can think of but isnt a beach holiday place. Valetta is a lovely city for mooching around in. Weather can be variable at that time of year. It's a gamble.
October in Tenetife was beautiful weather last year. Nice for pool/ beach but not scorching. One not brilliant day in a week but overall lovely weather.
Maybe Costa del duque in tenerife? Theres a long promenade with bars and cafes etc and I think some of the hotels are AI.
