I'm solo in Bangkok for 3 days next week and looking for nice little boutiques, places to eat, get a massage etc. Hoping to get away from the tourist zones. Anybody got some insider tips for me? Same goes for Phuket, which is my next stop.

Sukhumvit has all the big centres like Siam Paragon, Siam centre and Central World.Further up is Terminal 21.If you are there at the weekend head to Chatuchak market.
Phuket Old Town has some nice shops.

Posted too soon.Notice you want to get away from the tourists so in that case stay away from Sukhumvit.
I haven't been but read that Ari is a very hip neighbourhood in Bangkok.
