Where to go in the Vendee?

Am thinking about going to the Vendee next summer, either getting the ferry and driving to the northern part or flying to La Rochelle and hiring a car to go to the southern part.
But I cant find a location that has stood out. We would want to stay in gite poss with a pool in a quiet location within 5 miles of a nice beach but all the coastal towns look a bit non descript. Any ideas?

We stayed here last year. It’s a nice little complex of gites with a nice pool. There’s plenty to do around as well.
