Can anyone suggest any nice hotels around Lake Garda?
I really want to go next summer, it looks stunning.
I have heard that south of the lake is nore family friendly, not sure if this is correct?
Thanks

We are staying in an AirBnB at the end of the month in Sirmione. Looks lovely from the photos so hoping it is just as nice in real life. We've stayed in quite a few in various places now and they have always been great so may be worth having a look at that option too.

Thank you, we have booked a private apartment in Bardolino. Have a lovely holiday ☀️

Bardalino is gorgeous and Simione is too! Am very jealous. Gorgeous place, one of my favourite places in the world.

We stayed in an Airbnb in May in Desenzano del Garda. Found it a good location, the town is nice a bit bigger with more restaurants, supermarkets etc, plus a couple of pebble beaches. It's a good location to access the other towns via boat plus it's on the train line from Verona, about 30 mins away (via the Milan - Venice line). You can also reach Brescia and Mantua by train. We hired a car and the roads weren't too bad but I hear they can be horrendous in the summer so public transport facilities would be good.

If you do have a car, I'd recommend a trip to Lake Iseo, we got a boat out to the small island in the middle, Monte Isola. It was lovely, highlight of outer holiday.

Mine too. Have stayed in Garda and Sirmione. Would like to stay further north next time. Bardolino means a short airport transfer as well (assuming you are flying to Verona)

Thanks everyone, yes we are flying to Verona.
Looked at taxi transfers, but may do the bus instead.
Planning on going to Verona and maybe Venice for the day.

Yes, it's absolutely beautiful. I think there's something really breathtaking about the scenery & the atmosphere there.

It doesn't really matter where you stay IMO, because you can just easily spend the days just sailing across to another village and each are as beautiful as the other

We have stayed in the north in Riva with kids (primary age) and in the south pre-kids, and I would probably go for the south with family. The north is more picturesque but the only boat trip really worth doing is Malcesine and that is a long day. The distances are just that much further. Even driving is a long way. Had a lovely time nonetheless but from a practical perspective if you don't want to sit round a pool for most of a week, south is probably better.

We stayed in limone but hired a car so wouldn’t have mattered where we stayed
