Well it's actually a NZeTA (NZ electronic travel authority)
MIL just messaged fom NZ to say she'd some adverts about it.
Shame the airline we booked with didn't let us know!

Thanks for this information. I await the proliferation of scam websites advertising Nzeta services if they have not already sprung up.

Airlines do not take any responsibility in respect of visa requirements. It is the passengers sole responsibility to ensure that they have the correct visa or other documentation prior to travel.

The NZ immigration have an app you can download to purchase the NZeTA... its cheaper on the app then doing online. There is also a $35 charge per person for an IVL - International visitor Conservation and Tourism Levy.
