Talk to me about your (self catering) holiday to Mallorca!

I thought this might be a good time for recommendations whilst fresh in the mind.
Although DH and I have travelled extensively we have never done the travel company week in the sun thing! I’m a bit out of my comfort zone... but think it will be good for DC.

We like idea of Mallorca as so coeliac friendly. We want to self cater, all inclusive is not appealing to us.
We don’t like ‘entertainment’ and want reasonable quiet and a good kitchen and walking distance of places to eat and a beach if possible. And access to a pool... (I feel like I am asking a lot now).

I’d vaguely looked at villas but honestly I can’t be arsed with having to drive somewhere to eat out! Also if we get a car we often only want it for a couple of days.

I can see there is a water park and an aquarium- any other good places to go that will satisfy us all (I’d be happy walking around old towns ....DC Less so!).

We stayed in Soller a few years back, in a villa with an above ground pool and a great garden full of fruit trees which we could help ourselves to.

Easy walking distance to Soller for evening meals as and when required. Can take the tram to Port Soller which is about 3km away.

I didn't find it particularly coeliac friendly when eating out tbh, not terrible but not any better than elsewhere we've been.

We stayed south of Port d’Alcudia. The villa was too remote but the area is good, lovely beach, nice town, nice restaurants. I can’t say if it is colieac friendly though.

Colleagues always stayed in Port de Pollensa, more directly in the town. Not bad but I didn’t like the beach and see there.

I forgot, maybe look at Aparthotels, a complex with pool but you are sc and normally more in town than a single villa.

Thanks. The specialist sites I’m on seem to list plenty of places to eat. To be honest we only need about 3-4 meals out as we are happy to eat in a fair bit.
And as long as there is GF ice cream somewhere!
