3 days northern Spain where should I base myself?

Have booked 2 nights in Santiago de Compestela and 2 nights is Bilbao (will go to San Seb from there) - so have 3 nights / 4 days. Would like to base myself in one place and do day trips from there to off the beaten track / quiet beaches / villages / countryside. This is for this weekend coming.

Bermeo is nice

Do you like hiking? If so, the Picos de Europa are hard to beat... We stayed in Sotres and Espinama, if you're not doing a long distance walk though, you will need a car.

Thanks we ended up basing ourselves at Ribadesella (right on St Marina beach). We also went to vega beach. It has been amazing - food, scenery etc. Had planned a hike in the 3 days up a gorge in the Picos but we had done so much “hiking” thru museums in Lisbon, Porto, Bilbao, etc that we just spent 3 days on the beach. Already planning our next trip.

Northern Spain is lovely, but let’s not tell everyone about it!
