Portugal in October, is it still cosy?

Hello

Absolutely desperate for some sun and was planning to book a canary island for a week in October. Flights are crazy expensive but Portugal is reasonable.

Can anyone advise if it's still likely to be cosy in October? I want sunbathing and pool weather. I have the fear of taking the dc and being stuck in an apartment all week while it rains.

You might get lucky but more likely to be T-shirt/light jacket sightseeing weather.

Yeah it can be mixed. Nice enough during the day but gets dark early and cold at nights. Too chilly for swimming too. Still pleasant for walking around in T shirts though.

We own a property on the Spanish/Portuguese border and usually go in October. The kids still use the pool (not for long) and go surfing in wetsuits and we regularly wear shorts . One year it got up to 28degrees but it’s usually 20 and colder at night, but more jumper than coat weather

We looked at going to Portugal in October and have ended up booking Cyprus, apparently 🤞🏻 it’s warmer.
