Norfolk for me, relatively easy to get to, microclimate and lovely food and beaches.

Paris
Rome
London
Kefelonia
New York

Are all places I visit as often as possible

cjpark · 19/08/2019 18:24

Only 2 places - Iceland and Vietnam. Both equally beautiful in different ways with amazing, kind people.

Angryfan123 · 19/08/2019 18:27

Would love to go back to Kraków

MardAsSnails · 19/08/2019 18:33

ShanghaiDiva my only place I am desperate to go back to is Hanoi. I loved just wandering.

I also want to take DH to St. Petersburg though. Not because I want to go back, but because I want him to see it (he didn’t have a Russian visa when I went, so I went alone). Loved it, but feel I spent enough time there and there’s many, many more places to see in the world.

midsomermurderess · 21/08/2019 17:52

India and Turkey. Amazing sites, great food, hospitable people. India is challenging but exhilarating and so worth visiting.

Winter2019 · 21/08/2019 21:30

And also Prague is gorgeous!

Riverviews · 21/08/2019 21:35

The places I've repeated several times are:

New York
Rome
Paris
Barcelona
Florence
Venice
Madrid

There's so much to see. You never see it all.

Places I would go back but I have not managed yet:

Japan
Vietnam
St Petersburg
Moscow
Budapest

The reasons are the same. I don't think one visit is ever enough

which1 · 21/08/2019 21:39

I try and go to places only once.
Ideally countries so at least I can say I've visited X country, Y country, Z country etc.
If I was especially keen to re-visit a country I'd try and visit a different part.

HarrietSchulenberg · 21/08/2019 21:50

Dumfries and Galloway,
Outer Hebrides,
Pembrokeshire,
Cornwall, but only in the winter.

Pinkarsedfly · 21/08/2019 21:50

North Norfolk. Massive skies, gorgeous beaches, friendly locals, wonderful seafood and just a sense of place you don’t get in many other places in the UK. It’s been my spiritual home since childhood and I’m determined to live there one day.

Ile de Rê. Pretty much the above, but with better cheese and patisserie and even better weather.

nononever · 26/08/2019 19:41

We've travelled internationally a fair bit but like to go to a different destination each time. The only place we have returned to is the Maldives, definitely our favourite destination, photos don't do it justice. Actually there is one other place, Iceland, been multiple times there too.

At home we love the Western Highlands and islands and usually go once a year off season when it's less busy, got a trip coming up in a few weeks. We've been to Orkney a few times, my husband used to work there a days a week.

nononever · 26/08/2019 19:42

I am desperate to go back to is Hanoi

We're off there in January, can't wait.

Yogagirl123 · 26/08/2019 19:43

nononever · 26/08/2019 19:45

Western Australia - have been five times and going again in January the beaches are just stunning.

We were there earlier in the year, totally agree about the beaches, they are definitely stunning. We will be going back maybe around the end of next year.

Greeper · 26/08/2019 21:57

This is all wonderful. I am making myself a bucket list...

In the UK, the Lakes, the Dales, the North Devon coast and the Scottish Highlands. Plus Brighton for its vibe and small, pretty and foodie Ludlow.

Then there's Ghent, to me like Bruges but less crowded. Someone up thread mentioned Aigues Mortes, which was my childhood repeat trip along with Arles. Plus Madrid, Segovia and Cadiz.

For the USA, I've repeated Nashville, Denver, NY, Chicago and Santa Fe. I think we're going to repeat Memphis and Clarksdale Mississippi. Australia I loved, but it was my mum's home, so my perception was shaped by that. Off to Japan soon, and I'm really hoping that will be a repeat destination too; I've been to Toyko before, but the rest will be new.

Lake Garda - we all love it, the swimming in the lake, hiring a boat, the food, the scenery.
Saalbach/ Hinterglemm - skiing holiday - our favourite place
Anglesey - not too far away and beautiful beaches
Lake District - not too far away again and we love the lakes, the mountains, the pubs.
Annecy - beautiful place- scenery is amazing and fondues are the best

Hellokittymania · 28/08/2019 00:10

It’s a very tough one, and not counting the countries where I have lived… Because I have lived in some amazing places, I would say… Uganda, because of the people, and I really like the food, and the atmosphere.

I love languages, and I speak several, and even though I don’t speak Swahili or Much luganda, I picked up enough while I was there. I am also visually impaired, and I’m a strange sight a lot of the time since I travel on my own… I went to a conference, but then I stayed on for the month, and I made a lot of friends locally. Being able to speak the language, or making an effort to try warms locals up to you. It’s a good way to learn about the culture, and learn about the people, and for me, since I can’t see, this is very important. I really don’t like very touristy places, and seeing the tourist sites isn’t as important to me.

Hellokittymania · 28/08/2019 00:12

And to whoever wants to go to Hanoi, Vietnam in general, that is where my heart is, and I think it always will be. It is a wonderful place.

ParkheadParadise · 28/08/2019 00:22

Cyprus - have a house there
Barbados - honeymoon, went back for our 10th anniversary
Dubai - 30th birthday surprise

Dublin - I love Dublin, its where we always go for a weekend away.
Edinburgh
St Andrews

AlpenCrazy · 31/08/2019 17:25

For me, the place that calls to me is Africa.

I've been to Egypt 5-6 times and would like to go back.
I'm desperate to return to Zanzibar. The mix of culture there is just fascinating and they are the most beautiful beaches on the planet.

I worked in Paris, Rome, Amsterdam & Prague a lot, but the only one I'd want to spend my own money revisiting now is Rome.

AlpenCrazy · 31/08/2019 17:26

Oh and Greece. Just about any of the islands. Been to so many and never had a duff time.

Flamingo84 · 31/08/2019 17:39

Rome. I never get tired of it. So much to see and do, amazing food, beautiful views around every corner. It’s great for people watching when you have all the time in the world or you can be a 90mph tourist.

Villefrance is somewhere I want to go back to, it’s so picturesque. Also the food is fabulous.
