Norfolk for me, relatively easy to get to, microclimate and lovely food and beaches.

Pembrokeshire, like Cornwall with less people and cheaper.

Tenerife. The north is beautiful, the food wonderful and easy flights for winter sun.

YouJustDoYou · 18/08/2019 16:55

Japan. It's my happy place. Lived, worked, studied and travelled there for years, I never grow tired of it.

GrumpyMiddleAgedWoman · 18/08/2019 17:25

Malta. Great weather, loads to see and do, and if you get a taxi and only have cabin baggage you can be off the plane and into your hotel in about half an hour.

Kusadasi in Turkey. Just been for the 3rd time in 4 years.
We go to an amazing 5star AI hotel that has a huge waterpark for the dc aged 8 and 16, a luxury spa and even a shopping mall.
It's more of a complex and it's in the middle of nowhere with a private beach, 40 minutes from the airport.

I had been put off Turkey by my ex dp who went as a child and his mum had a bad experience there and I've always thought it would be horrible.

I literally would be happy to go every single
holiday, it's the most beautiful place with the friendliest people.
I intend to see more of the country though o worry I will compare every hotel to the one we love.

Worst place I've ever been to is Benidorm.

"wonder if that’s mainly at weekends?"

It was a weekend while they were there, so you may be right. It did take the shine off the place though.

ShanghaiDiva · 19/08/2019 03:08

Western Australia - have been five times and going again in January the beaches are just stunning.
I also love Vietnam and have been about 8 or 9 times and going back in December. I love the food and also wandering around the back streets in Hanoi old town.

Daffodil2018 · 19/08/2019 03:13

We go back to the Lake District every year. We love walking and the scenery is so breathtaking.

I used to live in Paris and go back every couple of years or so to see what's new and revisit the greatest hits.

SnowsInWater · 19/08/2019 06:36

When we lived in the UK La Rochelle, stunning French town. DH has family nearby but we would have kept going back anyway.

Now we are in Aus we try and go to Bali twice a year. It's a bit of an odd one as beaches are shit compared to home but there is just something about the place we love (obviously we don't stay in Kuta!!!).

SinkGirl · 19/08/2019 06:44

I would go back to every place in Italy I’ve visited but still have so much to see!

I’ve been to Paris multiple times because it’s so easily accessible without flying, and because there’s still a thousand places I want to go and haven’t had a chance.

Biancadelrioisback · 19/08/2019 08:29

Isle of Pines

Biancadelrioisback · 19/08/2019 08:29

Oh, sorry, because it was beautiful and I didn't spent enough time there the first time.

SooticaTheWitchesCat · 19/08/2019 13:45

Turkey - my husband is Turkish and I lived there, now we have a house there. I just love it, beautiful country, lovely people, amazing food, culture, history and of course good weather.

BestIsWest · 19/08/2019 13:50

Western Canada - so much to see and thinking of going again.

Lisbon/Cascais area, great food, lots of history, lovely people.

SJane48S · 19/08/2019 17:37

Typically I like going somewhere new (it’s a big old world out there but I’ve been back to/would go back again to:

Italy - Rome, Siena, Florence, Verona, Bologna. Venice & Ortigia
France - Paris & the Riviera
Spain - Segovia, Toledo, Granada, Seville
Sri Lanka (in a couple of years!)
East Africa - Kenya & Tanzania
Bali
Switzerland- Lucerne
Austria - Innsbruck
Turkey - Istanbul
Oman
East Coast of Canada
Bali
Sweden - Stockholm
Prague - yes the stag parties are a pain but it’s the most incredibly beautiful city, been twice, once during the Communist years
Slovenia - Ljubljana & Bled
USA - New York
Dartmouth
Totnes
Fowey
Boscastle

Places I never particularly want to go ever again:

Lido de Jesolo, Naples & Milan - Italy
Lille
Trinidad
Brisbane & the Gold Coast
Vienna
Newquay
Bexhill
Ilfracombe
St Austell

Winter2019 · 19/08/2019 17:41

Crete!!! Stunning and food delicious!!!

FeltCarrot · 19/08/2019 17:53

Have always been of the mindset that it’s a big old world out there so wouldn’t visit the same place twice but when leaving Vietnam after a fantastic holiday I felt really sad at the thought I might never go back again so might have to rethink that one.

FeltCarrot · 19/08/2019 17:56

However, I would visit NY again and again if funds allowed and Lake Como was one of the most stunningly beautiful places I’ve ever been, that will be where I buy a villa when I win the lottery! 😂

7Worfs · 19/08/2019 18:01

Another vote for Egypt but for different reasons - Red Sea snorkelling and diving is the best I’ve experienced
