I have copied this across from Longhaul as wasn’t sure where would be best for it... Just booked 3 weeks in Canada for next summer!!! We will be flying in and out of Vancouver.
I think we are likely to do a couple of days in Vancouver then over to Victoria and Tofino, then back to the mainland and visit whistler, Kamloops, Jasper and Banff before heading back to Vancouver.
Have I missed out anywhere obvious to visit? Are there any must do activities? The kids will be 10 and 7.
I am so excited, I last went to Canada when I was 12 and had the best time. We are hoping to meet up with my cousins whilst we are over there.

My friend is flying back today after a 3 week trip. In no particular order she has done Whistler, Calgary, Lake Louise, Niagra Falls, Toronto, Vancouver, Vancouver Island and Montreal. She has a 5 year old, so they have spent a lot of time on steam trains and at zoos.

Oh Canada is amazing and you've picked a wonderful itinerary. If possible stay at Crystal Cove when you're at Tofino - magical place with access to the gorgeous beach. We did a kayak tour to an island with a nature walk from Tofino and that was great, plus we've also been on a sea plane to a hot spring.

Second crystal cove my favourite stay on our 4 week tour.

Torfino is a great base for whale watching and bear watching trips.
Loved Banff too

We went with 14,13 and 9 year old. Their favourite was white water rafting at Clearwater and the ice glacier on way to jasper.

Oh! You're going to Tofino? That's my most favourite place in the world. We used to live in Vancouver but because we couldn't afford anywhere to live we moved across the country to the Maritimes. They have beautiful beaches here but, IMO, nothing like Tofino. Cox Bay is my favourite. I guess it's the tide and laid back atmosphere I love so much! Enjoy!

We drove from Calgary to Tofino, stayed there a week then to Vancouver itself for a few days. En route we stayed a few days in a Pine Bungalow (like a log cabin) in jasper and a couple of days at Harrison Hot Springs. This was a little town on the edge of a lake, idyllic, I could have just moved in and lived there. Canada is a beautiful place. I recommend coffee and bagels from Tim Horton's for breakfast.
