Malta in October

Yay or nay? Is the weather reliable enough during half term?

I went to Malta in the second half of October years ago and I just remember the cold and freezing rain. It was horrible.
The following year, at the same time of the year, we went to Crete and it was gorgeous, so it is unpredictable.
