Right, In december, my Husband and I would like to take our LO on hoilday for a week. We would like to go to Fuerteventura for a bit of the old winter sun.

Ok, the problem I have is that my baby will be 13 months old...Does that sound like an ok age for a 4 hour flight?

It would be great if you could tell me the ages your LO's were when you first took them abroad and how they handled it (the flight etc).

Cheers ladies, im going nuts here lol

I took my DS1 to Cyprus (4 hours) at 9 months, it was absolutely fine - although we did travel late so he was tired. DS2 did his first flight at 13months (3 hours). To be honest I now find it more of a handful (DS2 is 19 months) as he wriggles around and won't sit still. So does depend what your LO is like but I'd imagine still quite calm?? It's really important to try and get seated in a three so you have an extra seat on which to lay them etc. Might be difficult if you're on a charter.

Took DD on 9 hour (!) flight to Orlando when she was 16 months. It was actually better than I anticpitated. She didn't sleep but was perfectly happy/ didn't cry. I agree with TTT, the younger the better. Flight 2 was slightly more traumatic at 25 months, as she didn't want to wear a seatbelt.

I remember giving a bottle on ascent/ descent to help ears, taking spare clothes for me and her in case of puke.

Reckon you will be fine. Have fun
