Looking a 10 day holiday here at the end of August, early September.
Has anyone been and any comments? (we will have a 4.11yo and a 19mo at that point).
Also, whats the weather generally like - can only find averages which range massively from 13c - 20c which is a massive difference.
Thanks

No info on site I'm afraid, but just checking you knew you could use Tesco clubcard points to pay for it if you use Tesco's, (we came back from P&V site in South of France 4 weeks ago and didn't know we could have used our points).

ohhhh I didn't - going via which holiday company? Might have a bit of a problem with it because I can only find one place showing vacancies for the period I want.
What was the one you went to like?

We went last year (last week of July) with a then 4.11yo (co-incidentally) and a 11mo. We had glorious weather then - it's very similar to the weather in the south of England, so who knows what it'll be like in a month's time???? Anyway, the major downside for us was the size of the townhouse - absolutely minute. We had a place sleeping supposedly 6 (if you count the sofabed) but although the two bedrooms were fine (and there was space for the cot in the twin room) the living room / dining room / kitchen was tiny. We had a place with a balcony overlooking the lake, which was nice - my boys liked to feed the ducks - there was no run-around space. Other townhouses have a small garden, which might be better. Anyway, the resort was fine - the swimming pool complex was very good (beware the over-zealous wardens), there is a little shop for essentials, and DS1 even went to the children's club for a couple of afternoons. DH and DS1 went out on a canoe for an hour, which they enjoyed. Lots of people were cycling. The beach nearby is very nice, big and clean - it's easy to park the car nearby and there is a row of shops (seliing essential buckets and spades) & restaurants. So overall, if you can cope with small spaces you can have a good time.

Going either through French Life or Pierre & Vacances direct. Are you checking availability just through one agent? I think different agents, eg. French Life, Keyplaces & P&V direct have different availability. We went to Les Restanques in the South of France and enjoyed it. It was very well run and clean but worth checking what facilities are available when you are there. There was only one restaurant rather than the 2 advertised and no bar, so a little disappointed there.

We found the apartment which slept 5/6 was quite spacious, (well certainly compared to the caravan the year before), and was more like a house as it was on 2 levels, (with stunning view of St. Tropez which we hadn't paid extra for).

Best of luck

We are off to a P&V in the Pyrenees next week. We aren't expecting the apartment to be very large (from experience of French ski apartments)and booked direct through P&V. OUr apartment is for 6-7 people, but only has one proper bedroom and a cabine with a bunk bed - fine for us with two teenagers, but might not be so good if you have young children.

Helennn - I can't see anything on the Clubcard site about booking with Pierre & Vacances direct, and the P&V website is quoting me in Euro's anyway. Am I missing something here? French Life don't have availability so would have to be with P&V direct if I could do it with Tesco vouchers (and save ££££'s which would be great).
I have ordered deals vouchers for Eurotunnel so just need to get the accommodation sorted.

Sorry not to come back sooner chasingsquirrels - have just been away for a few days.

I really must be imagining things - I am sure i saw P&V on the Tesco clubdeals site, I was kicked myself for not booking this years hols using them - but I can't see it now so I must have been dreaming, . Glad you got sorted in the end!!

ChasingSquirrels · 09/08/2007 21:25

no problems, your post reminded me that I could use the tesco deals for eurotunnel, so that was great.
Maybe they did do them and have stopped? Anyway they didn't have the availability I wanted and another site did.
All booked and sorted and now we have a holiday to look forward to in 2 weeks .
