Trying to plan a family birthday celebration to somewhere warm in November but unfortunately we only have three days. Any ideas under a 4 hour flight from UK thanks

The Canaries are the most obvious choice (Tenerife will be 24% on average in November) but Marrakech in Morocco isn’t far behind at 23 degrees. Depends on what you want from a holiday really! Of the two I’d go for Morocco but Marrakech isn’t the most hugely small child friendly city - however there are numerous resorts on the edge of the city where you could base yourself and dip in and out of the city! Southern Spain and Portugal will be warmish - Seville will be 20 degrees on average and Tavira 19 degrees. Seville’s nicer of the two but Tavira is easily covered and has charm! We had a family multi generation couple of days in Tavira last Feb (staying in the Pousada Convent next to the Castle) and it suited most of us.

Only adults going and Spain sounds good as shorter flight. Seville is a beautiful city but Portugal is another option thanks

Southern Spain, Almeria is the warmest driest province. Granada just outside might be good. We sspend a lot of time in this area and usually have good weather but last year it wasn't great for most of Nov. Doing southern Portugal this Nov/Dec this year, for a change. Fingers crossed for some sun. Look at timeanddate.com for historical weather data for any given month in any major city or resort.

Malaga is brilliant for a short beak. Really easy to get to and the old centre is lovely with great food and bars. Also Grenada good option.

Palms in Mallorca good choice too.

Berlin 8n November wasn’t warm (at all) but blue skies and lovely.

We love Malaga and Granada too. How about Madeira cheap flights at the mo and only 3hrs 30 flying time. Has anyone any info please?

We went to Madeira last November, stayed in Funchal. We had great weather and plenty for adults to do. No beaches!

TrumpInflatableChased · 08/08/2019 22:52

I wasn’t that fussed with Funchal compared to mainland Spain or palma. Just seemed a bit less to do.

So Seville has cheap flights but now wondering if it’s worth going all that way for 2 nights! Arrive about 2pm on Tues, full day there on the weds then fly back Thursday lunchtime. Just trying to organise a nice birthday treat - if not maybe cottage + hot tub in the UK and less travelling.

Well you get into the city in town in time for an afternoon look round then tapas into the night. All day the next day and then a leisurely breakfast....

I think I'd be tempted to go for a UK option unless you live really close to the airport.

Decided to stay in the UK now and will plan a family holiday for Madeira next year when we all have more time
