Can anyone suggest any ideas for a holiday with a 6 month old in November?
I fancy going somewhere warm so I think it will have to be long haul.

I guess that depends on your budget and the type of accommodation and activities/excursions that you want! Dubai will be nice then and I thoroughly recommend the Jumeirah Beach Hotel (and the adjacent Jumeirah International Hotels: the Al Qasr and the Mina a Salam) which are very baby friendly but that will not be a cheap holiday. Otherwise Egypt will still be warm I should think and there are some lovely child friendly hotels in Sharm el Sheikh and Hurghada for a very reasonble price. I guess further afield there are the Caribbean destinations: Mexico, Cuba, the DR and Jamaica are probably the cheapest - but St Lucia, Antigua, Barbados, Grenada, Tobago, St Kitts, Aruba, the Bahamas and so on are all readily served from most UK airports. Check the weather though because not all Caribbean destinations will still be warm in November (the Bahamas, Turks and Caicos islands will be cooling off then I believe). In the other direction there's Mauritius, Thailand, Sri Lanka, Kenya etc ... Where have you been before and where would you like to go?!

Copycat has made some great suggestions, and agree that you probably need to narrow your requirements. I would recommend only considering places that have direct flights. Stop-overs, however brief, are a pain with a baby IME.

Egypt is a great suggestion, not too far longhaul and the beaches are lovely. I went a couple of years ago at the end of October and the weather was beautiful. Not too hot. And lots of families about.

One thing you need to check with the Caribbean destinations is when hurricane season is. I think it's Aug - Nov time, but not sure. Definitely check this.

Thanks for the advice...was thinking of ? Mauritius but there are no direct flights from Manchester so that may be a bit of a pain?

Bit late on this thread - but we went to the Princesa Yaiza in Lanzarote in November/December last year with our then 6 month old. We had a "suite".
Lanzarote not my first choice of place to go but !! pluses
5 star hotel
The "suite" was a huge room, bathroom and living room and ds slept in the corridor in the dark...!
We went out for dinner every night and ds slept in his buggy (it converted into pram thing) - they'd pull a chair out and we'd slot him under the table. They were so accommodating. You can walk 10 minutes up to a lovely marina where there are some really nice eats or the other way where it is slightly more touristy but still good.
All suite rooms have a microwave so good for heating stuff for baby.
Lovely hotel and staff. Pool area really nice - there is a small pool for kids but as ds quite young we took his playgym and he lay on that between us playing with stuff whilst we read our books or ds or I would take him off for a walk.
All in all a great holiday and only 4 hours on a flight.
A friend went to Cape Verde Islands to an all inclusive with 14 month old really and had a good time. I just think at this 6 month old age you are still able really to take them out and they will probably sleep - wait 9 - 12 months and there's no chance !!!
Good luck
