Can I Apply for my sons passport without fathers consent?

My Sons father has PR as well as myself as he is named on the BC. He has never really bothered with our son, still denys him even been his child and I have to ask him for money for him each month, he is HARD WORK.
Anyway I am wanting to apply for my sons passport to take him to Disneyland over Christmas half term with my mum, as well as a holiday next year. I've asked his dad nicely if he will sign the PP and give me any details, consent etc I may legally need and his reply was ' no I don't trust you taking him away' . We got into an argument and hes refusing to be civil. He was controlling when we was together and this is the last thing he has control over, which is why hes doing it out of pure spite.

Is there any way I can get round it? Do I NEED his signature, ive googled loads but different answers are coming up. Please help! thanks Smile

You don’t need permission to apply for the passport but you need his permission to take your ds abroad. Or ask the court for a specific order.

You need his permission to go abroad or that of the court

I got a first passport for my son without his dad's knowledge, I didn't need anything from him and I didn't bother mentioning it so now he doesn't even know he has one (we're not together). Never actually travelled anywhere though.

You can get the passport by yourself but as others have said you need permission to take him abroad or do it through the court
