7 of us going to Londres- need something to accomodate us all - ideally something that can sleep 4 in a room ( is this possible?)

I am assuming Travelodge is not what you want?

SimplySparkling · 02/08/2007 17:15

Try Marriott. www.marriott.com. Or www.superbreak.com. I've not tried either but I've kept a bit from the paper months ago when someone asked this very question.

try 4 * youth hostel at St Pancras - do B & B and 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, bedded roome - 5 bed room was less than £100/night

tiredemma · 02/08/2007 20:15

look at the Travelodge in Covent Garden - it's in a fab position

nell12 · 02/08/2007 20:16

try here

tiredemma · 02/08/2007 20:18

I looked at travelodge CV- fab- ideal- except that now you have to pay in advance and I dont have £600 spare at the mo!

have got a friend who is overseeing the building of a new Park Plaza hotel by Big Ben- said he would sort us out a cheapie- but im worried that its too far out???

OP posts:
foxinsocks · 02/08/2007 20:19

what's too far out?

tiredemma · 02/08/2007 20:22

its over by Waterloo ( lambeth) i think and we wanted to be by cov garden if poss?

(dont really know london- could be talking out of my arse!)

OP posts:
foxinsocks · 02/08/2007 20:26

you mean the park plaza that's on the embankment? think it's a proper 4 star hotel!

tiredemma · 02/08/2007 20:27

I think its a sister one to that hotel that is being built and opens in november- its more like studios and looks fab on website-im just worried about being too far from everywhere? ( am i being a nutter?)

OP posts:
foxinsocks · 02/08/2007 20:30

show me where it is

if it's by Big Ben, you're laughing

foxinsocks · 02/08/2007 20:33

Ok, I've got it now. The aparthotel thing...not that actual hotel (looks like it's very near Waterloo?).

Tbh, I'd take what your mate has offered - especially if you are watching dosh and it looks amazing that place!

I used to walk to work from Waterloo to Holborn (used to go through Cov Garden). You can easily walk it - around 20 mins ish, or go on the tube if you have to (probably around 10 mins).

foxinsocks · 02/08/2007 20:34

the journey planner on here gives you quite a good indication of where everything is and journey times etc.

tiredemma · 02/08/2007 20:35

Ive just been corrected by DP- our friend is overseeing the opening of the new one at waterloo (SE1?) but will actually be back working at the Albert embankment one (??All foreign to me?) which is the one he has offered at approx £50 a room per night- would I mental to refuse this just to stay closer to cov garden? is it a nice hotel?

MrsBadger · 02/08/2007 20:36

Holiday Inn Express has rooms with a double bed and a double sofabed . Our favourite one is Old St but depends where you need to be.

foxinsocks · 02/08/2007 20:39

here it is

I think your nearest tube would then be Vauxhall?

it's further out than the other one but certainly not undoable

tiredemma · 02/08/2007 20:40

would the new county hall one be a good location?

OP posts:
foxinsocks · 02/08/2007 20:44

they are both fine

tbh, I think you'd be mad to turn down the £50 a night room at the hotel.

tiredemma · 02/08/2007 20:47

would i? ill go for it then.

thanks fox- you have been a great help- was about to book a hostel almost!!!

OP posts:
foxinsocks · 02/08/2007 20:48

oh no no no

why stay in a hostel when you can stay in a hotel

tiredemma · 02/08/2007 20:49

thank you- will take him up on his very kind offer.
