I would like to take my husband away next year for his 40th, and I know Krakow is one of the places he'd like to visit. Has anyone been and if so, could I have your recommendations for accommodation and things to do whilst we're there?

We got an Airbnb when there, and had a great experience! Wawel Castle is a must see I think, and I really enjoyed the Jewish quarter Kazimierz - lots of cute shops, nice bars etc. You'll have a fab time, we loved it

It’s beautiful, cheap and pretty much everything is within walking distance. If you want to do day trips you can go and see Auschwitz or the Salt Mines. We just wanted a relaxing weekend with no rushing around, we got a 5 star hotel just off the main square, and then spent our days wandering between coffee shops, bars and restaurants, and reading or enjoying the sun (we were very lucky with the weather in April). We also both had a massage while we were there at a place that is highly recommended on trip advisor I think and it was great, and went to a bar for some live music one night as well. Best weekend in ages!
