Anybody been to Malaga before and any recommendations? Me and my friend are both 21 and going next week but unsure whats good to go there or whether they have any nice beaches/bars/cultural attractions etc. that you would recommend. Thankyou in advance.

Where to start with Malaga? The old town is a lovely place to stroll around, with lots of tapas bars. It's overlooked by the Moorish castle (the Alcazaba) which has amazing views of the city and sea. Cathedral is lovely. I love walking in the beautiful Paseo del Parque by the seafront, the enormous palms keep things cool and shady. Culture-wise, there's the Picasso Museum (Picasso was born in Malaga) and also the Thyssen Gallery and Contemporary Art Centre (CAC).

For eating out we love the Tintero seafood restaurant on the beach (get a taxi to El Palo, the old fishing quarter). Unique place where waiters constantly bring out plates of fish and seafood and you grab it as they go by! Our kids adore it but great fun for adults too.

I love Malaga. But I'm old and like bars, eating and walking round old cities. it was a brilliant place for a city break.

We went over February half term and loved the city. We stayed in the centre, and caught the train from the airport - very simple and cheap travel. We also used the train to explore further down the coast one day. Rest of the time we explored the city and the coastal parts of Malaga by foot.

We ate, and drank, here one night: Vineria Cervantes Was lovely; food (tapas style) was excellent and they had a great selection of drinks.

We stayed there for 2 nights on the way back from having a villa in Nerja last year
It's fab and we had a lovely, very reasonable apartment right in the centre

Malaga is fabulous for a city break, plenty culture, nightlife, lovely food and the seaside. We took an electric bike tour one day which was a great way to see the city.
