Malta is nice, but Bugibba is rather Little-England-on-Sea... lots of people in Union Jack shorts, pubs called the Churchill and the Diana, chalkboards advertising British food, that sort of thing.

ooh not quite what i imagined any reccomendations of places to go then, not my idea of a holiday place. We stayed in Qawra about ten years ago and it was lovely very quiet with lots of little cafes and restauraunts, have things changed that much

There is a main bus "depot" in Buggiba. You can get a bus (cheap if not v comfortable!) to Valleta etc. from there

It may have caught me on a bad day . And there definitely were nice places to eat (etc.) in Bugibba -- you just needed to hunt them out more than you might have wished.

How old are your DCs? Gozo is much quieter and you can go on the ferry (or the helicopter for added excitement!) -- actually you could easily spend a whole holiday on Gozo.

On the main island, the Hpyogeum (but visitor numbers limited to 80/day, so you'll need to book up well in advance); Mdina and Rabat; Valetta; Marsaxlokk or Marsaskala are nice to wander around.

Depends on whether you want beaches or Cultural Stuff To Do...

Hypogeum, not Hpyogeum.

LilyLoo · 02/08/2007 15:41

It's a prehistoric temple.

Ggantija on Gozo is another prehistoric site and I don't think it's limiting numbers yet.
