We are visiting Agadir later this year, first trip to Morocco, first trip to Africa. Excited but a bit nervous. What should we do, where should we go and any advice you can give please.

I've been to Morocco 3 times and the last time was a week in Agadir with DH and toddler DD. It's a modern town but pleasant to walk along the sea front. Plenty of places to eat. We hired a car and went to Taroundant which is a walled town and more traditional than Agadir. We went on a caleche ride around the town walls and wandered around the market. It's a pleasant town. We drove into the mountains to the waterfalls at Imouzzer Ida Ou Tanane. Very beautiful but the drive took longer than anticipated. We also drove south to a walled town called Tiznit. There are plenty of organised excursions if you prefer not to drive yourself. Essaouira is a lovely town to visit. That would be my top pick for a day out from Agadir. Marrakech is doable for a long day out as well.

Enjoy.
My favorite things to do there was a trip to Marrakech. I absolutely loved it.
My favorite restaurant is www.jardindeau-agadir.com/

The souk there is wonderful.

I had the best massage I’ve ever had in my life (also bought amazing rose cream and Moroccan oil for my hair). I can’t remember the name of the place. I think it was owned by a French man.

I have visited a few times. Feds is astonishing, the old town, the market. Marrakesh is fine for a day, stay in a riad and head off. I loved the journey up and over the Atlas Mountains and down in to the Draa valley, stopping off at Aït Benhaddou on the way, but it might be very commercialised now due to various films. Went over to Essaouira a couple of times but even quite some years ago, you could see it changing and becoming quite twee and touristy. My advice is head south and into the oasis towns.

Thanks for the advice everyone - am really looking forward to going somewhere a little unusual. Will search up your recommendations - if anyone has anymore I'd really appreciate it Smile
