CHEAP 3 day sun weekend or just stay in the uk?

DH and I have a big anniversary coming up and he has surprised me with a gift of a weekend away. He's sorted childcare for Friday through Sunday and has been squirrelling away money for the past year to save up enough to go away somewhere decent (by our usual family camping holiday standards at least!).
He's not bothered where we go as long as we can spend some time together - no kids, no gadgets no work for 3 whole days!

I would LOVE to have a totally lazy 'lie on a sun bed by the pool drinking cocktails' type experience but have no idea whether this is even possible for £600 (ish - I could add a bit more but not that much) and also whether it would be totally pointless wasting time and money on flights when we could just go somewhere nice in this country for cosy walks, maybe a spa treatment and nice meals?

If you haven’t done the city beaks the temptation is to spend the days “seeing thing” this is pretty much the opposite to what you need to be doing.
Where do you live and where have you been in the U.K.? Where is easy to fly from?

My favourite is the Park Plaza Westminster. It has fab views over the houses of Parliament. A swimming pool , sauna and Turkish Bath and an “ Executive Lounge” , An extra cost but you sit slap bang looking at a Big Ben and can eat and drink wine and beer as much as you want during the afternoon. Which is lovely if you haven’t got up until 12 anyway.
You can walk up and down the South Bsnk to say you did something before getting back into bed .

What time of year are you going?

We're going last weekend in September and in the SE easy for flights from Gatwick or train into London (although definitely don't want to stay - we lived there for 15 years and whilst we still love the odd evening out there don't want to go for our romantic weekend away!)

You could absolutely have a long weekend away in the sun for £600, assuming you already have passports. We did very early Thursday morning to Sunday evening in Mallorca and it was under £500 for the flights and 3 nights B&B in a hotel, so if you're only staying 2 nights, it will be easy and you'll have a decent amount of spending money.

I would go somewhere like Mallorca or other Balerics that isn't too far away, with lots of available flights and get a flight early on Friday morning and then you'll be able to have lunch in a nice beach bar. Fly back late on Sunday to make the most of the weekend and just ask your hotel to keep your bags for the last day.

BA have lots of city breaks for 2 nights on the 27th September. I put in a Nice and the weather is sunny and still hot.Easy to get from the airport to the town ( Its even walkable at a stretch) There are better beaches in towns further along but you could sit by a pool for sure.
Loads for under £6000 for two of you.

Other maybe The Pig ? My friends rate it highly both the New Forest and Dorset one.

Try easyjet inspire me option for the dates and airport local to you. At that time of year I would expect it throw up some good options within your price range..
