Hi. Has anyone recently had to change a passenger name on flights with Ryanair?
Following on from my other post (who should pay for name change?), we were under the impression that the name change fee was £115 for the return but the Ryanair site contradicts itself. Ititselfper passenger but a bit futher down that its per passenger per flight. Confused!

£115 per passenger per one way flight is the only way I read it

Lanny81 · 28/07/2019 08:40

Thanks, thats what Ive seen too.
But if you look further down in the fee table it says name change per passenger £115. Its a bit odd Confused

Name-change fee
Per Passenger/Per One Way Flight
€115/£115 per passenger
€160/£160 per passenger

Each flight is separate so 2x £115

Lanny81 · 28/07/2019 08:47

Name Change Fee
Per Passenger
€/£115
€/£160
Then this further down

When I did it (booked my flights before getting married when I hadn't decided about name change) it was free. I just called the call centre and they never charged me. That was three years ago though.

www.ryanair.com/ie/en/useful-info/help-centre/fees

All the fees for changes, cancellation etc are per person per flight

Ok thank you.
Looks like this holiday is going to cost me more than we thought 😢

Lanny81 · 28/07/2019 09:55

They are such a bunch of robbing bastards. It takes them seconds to change the name, and it's not like they even print any tickets out!

LIZS · 28/07/2019 11:16

That's still less than £230. Does she need to get same flights as existing, may out with ra and back with another airline or slightky earlier/later flight? Can she just take a carry on bag?

BarbaraofSeville · 28/07/2019 19:49

They do it to stop travel agents hoovering up all the cheap flights on the day of release and selling them at a profit. Obviously inconvenient to people who book and change their mind or can't travel for some reason, but those are their rules, which are similar to other airlines - most budget airlines won't let you change names or dates without a hefty fee.

Hi all.
Rang Ryanair- its £115 for the whole trip NOT each way) if you change name online, or £160 if you do it over the phone.
Not as bad as I thought.
